National Volunteer Week - 15-21 May 2023 Volunteering Australia’s theme for National Volunteer Week 2023 is ‘The Change Makers’. The Albury Women’s Shed undeniably relies on the generosity, knowledge and expertise of members to ensure the ongoing viability of the organisation, now and into the future. Volunteers, whether in a formal or informal capacity, form the backbone of the Shed, fulfilling a wide variety of roles and undertaking many vital tasks..
In early 2022 Albury Women’s Shed was contacted by the daughters of a wonderful craftswoman, Gladys, who was sadly suffering from dementia. Gladys had been an amazing seamstress, potter, china painter, quilter and had tried her hand at just about any craft imaginable. Her Faberge eggs were the most intricate and delicate creations to be found.
